In
the

Admin

Distance

field,

enter

the

administrative
distance
value

of
the
route.
The
administrative

distance

is

the

first

criterion

that

a

router

uses

to

determine

which

routing

protocol
to
use

if

two

protocols

provide

route

information

for

the

same

destination.

The

administrative

distance
is
a

measure

of

the

trustworthiness

of

the

source

of

the

routing

information.
A
lower

administrative

distance

value

indicates

that

the

protocol

is

more

reliable.

Valid

entries

are

from
0
to

255,

with

lower

numbers

indicating

greater

reliability.

For

example,

a

static

route

has

an
administrative
di

stance

value

of

1

w

hile

an

unknown

protocol

has

an

administrative

di

stance

value

of
255.
