Printing on Both Sides of Sheets

This section explains how to print on both sides of each page using the printer driver.

Important

  • When perform duplex printing, specify paper other than the following:

    • Cardstock, Tab Stock, OHP Transparency, Labels, Thick (129g/m2 or more), Preprinted, Prepunched, Translucent, custom paper size

  • The bypass tray does not support duplex printing.

1After creating a document, open the Printing Preferences dialog box in the document's native application.

2To use an existing Custom Setting, click the icon in the [Custom Setting name:] box.

If you do not wish to modify a custom setting that is already registered in the printer driver, change settings such as paper size and source tray as required, and then proceed to step 10.

3Click [Add/Change Custom Settings...].

4Click the [Edit] tab, if it is not already selected.

5Select the [Duplex/Booklet] check box.

6Click the icon of the page opening direction that you require.

7Specify the margins on the front and back sides, and then click [OK].

8Change any other print settings if necessary, and then click [Save As...].

If you are modifying an existing setting and want to overwrite the previous setting, click the [Save] button and then proceed to step 10.

9In the [Custom Setting name:] box, enter an appropriate name for the settings, and then click [OK].

10Click [OK] to close the printer preferences dialog box.

11Print the document using the print function in the document's native application.

Note

  • If the document contains pages with different original sizes, page breaks may occur.
